About Arches National Park
Arches National Park needs no introduction. Visited by nearly 1.5 million visitors per year, this park has grown to become a worldwide iconic destination. Although Moab is much closer, consider Blanding as your refuge if you are seeking quiet and tranquility.
Two-Hour Hikes
Windows Loop: The Windows loop trail affords a view of North and South Windows arches, as well as Turret Arch. After a stop at the windows,a short trail between the parking areas leads to Double Arch. Afterwards, drive back to Balanced Rock and walk around its marvelously balanced position on its base.
Delicate Arch Trail: Hike the Delicate Arch Trail from Wolfe Ranch to walk to the base of the world's most famous arch.
Landscape Arch: Pass through the Devil's Garden fins to see perhaps the world's longest arch, Landscape Arch.
Walk to Sand Dune Arch, then cross the field of grass towards Broken Arch. Continue around the loop, through the end of the campground, and return. Take in the view of the distant Book Cliffs, the beautiful Tapestry Arch and the sandstone fins.
Half-Day Hikes
Hike the full Devils Garden Trail, to the Dark Angel spire. On the way back, travel the primitive loop.
Take the moderately strenuous ranger-guided hike through the the Fiery Furnace. Sign up ahead of time at the visitor center.
If you don’t mind driving the rough and often “washboard” road to the remote island of rock known as Klondike Bluffs, hike the primitive trail to Tower Arch. If you have a whole day or more, combine the above hikes to fill the time you have.
