About Canyonlands National Park

Canyonlands National Park has three distinct visitor areas- Island in the sky gives you a brief overlook into the immense wilderness that awaits you in both needles and the maze districts. Blanding Utah sits in the middle of these two districts, providing great access for launching your adventure to some of the most untamed and iconic and beautiful red rock in the world. Those who are up for a high adventure should be sure to consider renting a jeep or taking a tour into this remote wonderland. Many seek refuge in the pristine desert environment on the numerous hiking and backpacking trails.

Although close on a map, because of the Green and Colorado rivers, the districts are not directly connected by roads. Between two and six hours is required to travel between districts. For this reason, most people choose to make separate trips to visit each district.

The park attracts visitors of every sort. Mountain biking, hiking, ATV/off-road, and river rafting are all activities available at Canyonlands!
