About Owachomo
Height: 106 ft
Span: 180 ft
Thickness: 9 ft
Width: 27 ft
On the eastern end of the Owachomo lies a rock formation, which is where the bridge received its name meaning "Rock Mound".
Owachomo is the oldest of the three bridges in the park. In fact, it is so old that the stream bed which carved its way through no longer passes under the bridge, but has since carved a new path.
Trail Info
Length: 0.2 mi
Elevation change: 180 ft
The trail to Owachomo is the shortest and easiest in the park. A steep sandstone sections exist, but there are handrails in place to help. Half an hour is enough time to make the round trip.
Because of Owachomo's short distance from the road, and the thinness of the bridge, it is a popular bridge for nighttime photos.
